Thought I was talking about some kind of racial issue? NOPE!I am talking about eating things that are white.Did you know eating things that are white are basically not good for you.Are you aware that  consistent diet of white rice, white sugar, white bread, white pasta etc will wreck havoc on your health overtime?
I know, I know they all taste so good, and they even feel good when you are eating them.Heck, I grew up eating the white diet too.But the real truth a consistent diet of “white” foods is not good for your health.In fact much of the food that you eat that is white is not really “white”.It has been bleached and processed to the point where there is very little nutritive value. In fact white food is not nutritious at all. Food that has been processed and bleached to appear white is just plain bad for you. Shocked? So was I when I first learned this many years ago. Want to reduce your stress and make a healthy life style change? Try these quick suggestions!


Do one or two healthy things every day. Each and every day, commit to one or two

good-for-you behaviors that you can really stick to. Exercise, drink 8 glasses of water, get in all your fruits and veggies. The choice is yours, but make sure you stick to it every single day.
Work out. Working out isn’t just for burning fat and toning muscles. It’s also a great way to release all that stressful frustration, anger and/or anxiety.

Start a food journal. Yes, it sounds like such a chore, at least at first, but writing down the food you eat truly is one of the most powerful tools around to help control eating and lose/maintain weight.

Ask for help. If possible, consult with a doctor or a dietician. Or, ask a friend or family member to help keep you on track.

Relieve Stress and Renergize - Do These Moves for Your Health and Wellness!

One of the ways to relieve stress and to also re-energize is  to do the following Yoga moves.  I do these in the morning and also in the early evening.  It is remarkable how much better I feel throughout the day as a result of doing these moves.  I can definitely tell when I do NOT do them .

Standing Cat Stretch
Lower into a squat with the hands on the thighs, back arched.  Pull the abs in and round the back up towards the ceiling.  Lower and repeat 15 times.  



Sun Salutation
Begin in a standing position and exhale as you sweep the arms up and overhead.  Exhale and engage the abs as you tip from the hips and lower into a Forward Bend, with hands on the floor or feet--bend the knees if you need to. Inhale and come up until the back is flat and exhale into forward bend.  Inhale and come back up, sweeping the arms overhead until palms touch. Repeat the series 4 to 8 times.

After giving it some thought I came up with my own list of things one should do to begin that important journey to wellness. The list is not in order of importance and is only a partial list.There are so many things involved in making the lifestyle change to live in a more healthy way.These suggestions are a good start for the journey to wellness for your mind, body and spirit.
·Time to start speaking well of yourself. -I have found when I spend part of my day affirming all the positive things in my life, positive things about myself, and positive things that I expect about my future, I begin to feel better. Stop letting yourself feed into speaking negatively about ANYTHING.Change your words to reflect love, healing, wellness and optimism. It is amazing how it will change you life for the better and impact you journey to wellness in a positive way.
