Have you ever been in a place in your life where you feel stuck? Have you ever wondered why your path went a certain way and not another? Do you walk through life dragging your regrets right along with you? Do you question your past and doubt your future?
Well, you are in good company and certainly not alone. Most people have floundered at one time or another. Not everyone is happy with their past and many people are uncertain of their future. So, what can we do about this fact so that we can have “Faith in the Process of Life” and fully live in the present?
We must realize that if we are constantly living in regret and gu…

PMS - Go With The Flow

One of the biggest complaints I have from my female clients are cramps, PMS, and menopause issues. And these are the reasons our periods have been considered the CURSE for generations. Many young women still see their periods as something shameful and parents aren’t giving their daughters a healthy perspective on becoming a woman. I think one of the first things we must do is reclaim the power that comes with menstruation and stop treating it like a negative aspect of being female.
Some experts believe the monthly symptoms of PMS are showing us what is out of balance in our lives and personal relationships. Women who are co-dependent or surrounded by alcoholics are more prone to PMS than other women. I find that I only get cramps and moody when I’m already in a stressful state. We are made to ebb and flow with the tides which are controlled by the moon. The mysteries of the moon can be a source of meditation and revealing of personal power. In ancient times women in the village would …

"I'm just big-boned" -Obesity, Denial and Heart Disease

It is Heart Healthy Month!

All this month our Facebook Page has been full of information about what is needed to get heart healthy and to stay heart healthy.  We have had some great post and comments. Based upon the feedback received, many have learned and are going to make changes. BUT there were a couple of post that truly disturbed me. Those post basically said that is is okay to be obese and that society is being prejudiced against obese or fat people because thinness is preferred. Really????

Here is my response to that very interesting point of view:

PALEEEZZZZE!!!   This has nothing to do with what you LOOK like...it has everything to do with what is your HEALTH is like!!

There are those who will not like me for this or will get upset with me for saying this BUT being in denial about being obese can ultimately cost you your life.  Obesity is considered to be one of the top causes of heart disease AND heart disease is the #1 killer for women in the United States.

Given this inform…

How does it happen? One day we wake up and life has snuck up on us. We are no longer a child, no longer a carefree twenty-something...we are all of a sudden in our forties...YIKES!

I know a lot of women get blind-sided by extra weight gain, or being unhappy with themselves in one way or another. They wake up one morning and ask themselves, "How did I get here?"  It appears that life is going along as usual and one day your life isn't what you thought it would be. Have you been in that position?

Well, most things in life sneak up on us in a gradual way. We don…

Women are always asking me for tips to loose weight. There is so much information out there that I have decided to go back to basics. Go back to those things I know have always worked in the past and will continue to work.  One great way to loose weight...the almighty GRAPEFRUIT!!  I can remember back in the day my mother always giving me grapefruit in the morning for part of my breakfast.  Now I wasn't trying to loose weight but, my mother knew about all the other nutrients and benefits of eating grapefruit.

Grapefruit is amazing when it comes to all the nutrients it provides,   essential elements such as iron, calcium, potassium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, folic acid and B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin and niacin).  Eat grapefruit, eat away your fat AND get healthy at the same time!

Here are just a few more amazing benefits you get when you add grapefruit to your diet:

1. Grapefruit Helps in Losing Weight
Grapefruit is high in enzymes that burn fats, has high water content …
