Breakfast - Important for Your Health and Wellness

 Here are some great basic principles to build a healthy breakfest.    It is important to take into consideration what works best for you and your body.  For instance if you are lactose intolerant forget the dairy and supplement almond milk or almond butter.  Or if your goal is to become a vegan and you want to begin to remove all meat from your diet, try tofu for breakfast or a vegan breakfast patty that you can get from the health food store. 
Learn the basic principles of good nutrition.  Focus on consuming a diet that is based on whole grains, vegetables, and fruits. It is also important to include some low-fat dairy products, fish, lean meats, and healthful oils into your diet. Limit the amount of less-than-healthful foods you consume. We live in an age of instantaneous gratification. No longer is the phrase "good things come to those who wait" carry very much credibility in our "microwave" society. The idea of  patience being a virtue is almost passe'. Telling your friends "let's wait and see what happens" will probably be met with a roll of the eyes and exasperated sigh from all who hear you.  Everybody wants everything NOW. During the month of August, we did a Walk for Wellness Challenge on our Facebook Fan Page.  I was surprised to see how many were not doing this challenge. While we did have some great participation, I thought this would be something everyone could do.  I still can't quite understand why one wouldn't want to walk.  It is such a simple exercise and SO beneficial .  Walking is one of the most effective ways  to get in shape, stay fit and reduce your weight.
