Help Me!!! I Can't Sleep!!!!

Last night I have to admit for the fourth night in a row I couldn't sleep!! I mean I tried everything. I turned off the TV, turned off the lights, put the Egyptian cotton sheets on the bed, took a hot bath, tried to meditate, I mean I thought I was trying everything. Finally I got up and got on the Internet. What I found out I want to share with you right now. This wasn't new information but it just reminded me that I need to first use the education I have about this issue and then guess what... actually "PRACTICE WHAT I PREACH"!

Below are some tips I will follow from now on when I am Sleepless in Sacramento!

*Focus on eating foods that are high intryptophan - tryptophan is one of the 20 standard amino acids, as well as an essential amino acid in the human diet. Basically it aids in helping the body to relax and sleep. Foods that are high in tryptophan are bananas, honey, oats, milk, and chicken breast!

Anti-Inflamatory Issues - Try these Holistic Tips

I can't tell you how many times I have heard over the last 6 months about people my age and younger having issues with swollen joints, the beginning signs of arthritis, and other aches and pains.  You know these pains start sometimes in a very subtle way and many times we ignore them.  Next thing you know we are sitting in a Doctor's office getting another prescription to pop some pills for the pain.  Now I am not anti - AMA or MD.  The medical professionals perform a much needed and valued service. But ...if there was away that we could reduce the need for taking pain medication be doing things to prevent the pain in the first place wouldn't that be a more preferred approach?   If we could start doing things with our diet that will help prevent the swelling of joints, arthritis and other joint pain our lives would be a lot different.

How to Spring Clean Your Home and Your Mind!

This is the time of the year that I always talk about Spring Cleaning. The reality is that Spring Cleaning the house is not the real challenge for me. The real challenge comes with Spring Cleaning my mind! Clearing out the cobwebs, letting go negative thoughts, letting go of things that are beyond my control, and trust the Creator who supplies all my needs. The act of Spring cleaning our minds, hearts and souls resonates with me. I am learning to forgive myself and to stop thinking that when I make a mistake or fall show of my expectations that I have committed some kind of ultimate failure. The reality it is through these mistakes that I learn (eventually) and come out a better more patient and tolerant person. Are you doing some Spring Cleaning soon?
