Bored with Your Workout? Try these New Forms of Work-Out!

I have fallen off the fitness wagon.  Yes, I have to admit it has been two months since I have done my regular exercise routine.  Now I have to admit that I do always do something everyday, I have to I will go nuts!  But my intense, well planned, sweat inducing and sometimes painful exercise routine has flown out the window.

After much soul searching (yeah right about 10 minutes) I decided that there was mainly one reason for my routine take a hiatus.  I WAS BORED!  Yup I got bored with my routine.  Imagine that?  But you know what, getting bored with your daily exercise regime can get boring.

The exercise and fitness guru's all say that it is important to change your routine, at least every three months.  You want to make sure you inevitably meet the goals you have set for yourself when it comes to exercising but you don't have to do the same thing every time.  Switch it up a bit, or alot.  There are plenty of ways to stay in shape and stay interested and engaged in what you are doing at the same time.

For those of you who are looking for something other than what you might normally do here are some suggestions (yes, I am doing them!)
  • Zumba - yes the Zumba craze has taken the country by storm.  You know why?  Its FUN.  It usually involves 20 or more Women gathered together. The moves are Latin inspired and aer exhilarating.  Zumba is healthy, rewarding and beneficial.  You can tone your muscles through a different type of resistance cardio-vascular training and at the same time burn fat and calories.  For more information go to http://www.zumba.com/ for the Zumba class nearest to you.
  • Line Dancing - now don't laugh!  The American Heart Association recommends line dancing.  It is cardio-vascular, gets you moving and it is a lot of fun.  You can go out dancing and not have to worry about a partner!  Another good thing about line dancing is that it is low-impact.  Most of the moves are simple, easy to learn and are very safe to do.  If you are just starting to get in shape this might be a fun way to go and ...it never gets boring!
  • Praise Dance Fitness - many of you may not have heard of this but for those of you who are looking for something low impact and spiritual this may be just right for you.  The moves are based on praise dance, ballet, modern and jazz.  The moves are simple and easy to learn.  Not only is it go cardio-vascular exercise, it is also great for stretching, and resistance training.  Many people may thing that this kind of class won't be for them.  But, I can tell you about one woman have having Breast Cancer took the class and loved it!  She lost 30 pounds in less than a year just doing Praise Dance.  For more information  go to http://www.praiseworks.biz/.  There you will find information about classes and how to purchase Praise Dance DVD that you can do in the comfort of your home!
  • Yoga, Pilates are also wonderful ways to get in shape.  You don't have to learn the hardest moves first.  You go at your own pace and you will be surprised how many people learn the moves and gradually move on to more complicated moves.  Both Yoga and Pilates is all about resistance training and discipline.   Yoga and Pilates is also good for relieving stress and keeping you centered.  There is also something called PriaseMoves , which is Yoga tied to scripture.  It is relaxing and very spiritually  rewarding.  For more information on a Yoga,Pilates, or PraiseMoves  class near you type them in your search engine and find out where the nearest classes are to you!  Go and try it out - you will be surprised what a refreshing and complete workout it is.
