Over the years I have collected some great DeTox Recipes that I thought I would share. I have tried all of them and I put an astrick * next to my favorite ones!
*Red Rainbow Juice
If you want help with stopping cravings in the middle of the day Red Rainbow Veggie Juice will do the trick. I like to drink it in the early am, but I have also had a swig in the middle of the day. It is full of veggie and the name of this juice is base on the tomatoes that are in this drink. Veggies include tomatoes and peppers, carrots, yellow lemons, celery, parsley, romaine, and cilantro. Great way to get your vegetable requirements for the day and very tasty!
1-2 red bell peppers, seeded and sliced
4 tomatoes, sliced
3 medium carrots, peeled and sliced
2 heads of romaine lettuce
1 bunch of celery
large handful of parsley
large handful of cilantro
1 English cucumber, peeled and chopped
2 meyer lemons, peeled
1 inch of ginger root
Use your favorite juicer and make sure you drink it within 48 hours. The sooner you you drink it after you've made it the more nutritious it is!
Blueberry Surprise Smoothie
This a great detox smoothie full of anti-oxidants. One of my favorite smoothie to have in the beginning of the day. The cranberry juice in this yummy smoothie is great and help serve as a detox ingredient by cleansing the urinary tract.
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 -2 bananas
1/2 cup cranberry juice
Very easy to make, taste delicious and so good for your body!
*Low Carb Green Smoothie
This smoothie is a great because it is low on carbs! Great while you are watching the carbs but still want to have that daily smoothie. Although it is low on fruits it is still high in nutrients. Spinach, wheat grass and coconut water are the main ingredients that make this smoothie nutritious and delicious.
1 cup coconut water
Great green smoothie to refresh and revive your body.
Daily DeTox Drink
This is great drink to have daily to aide your detox efforts. The Lemon is a great detoxifyer and the Apple Cider Vinegar is a good detoxifyer a well. One of the best Apple Cider Vinegar is BRAGG which is unfiltered and fresh.
Apple Cider Vinegar (Bragg is my favorite))
Optional: cinnamon, stevia
My favorite way to make it: Mix cold water (I use between 16-25 oz), a few ice cubes, 1-2 tbsp apple cider vinegar (the more you use, the more the detox effect but also the more bitter the drink will be), lemon juice of at least one full lemon, a sprinkle of cinnamon and stevia to taste. Drink entire thing first thing in the morning!
Golden Juice (hot drink)
This juice uses Turmeric. Turmeric is not only a metabolism boosting spice, it also contains detoxifying power, helping the liver break down toxic chemicals. Ginger also adds cleansing qualities, and organic lemon juice with cayenne pepper is reminiscent of the detox lemonade diet. The overall effect is you’re getting a powerful blend of spices with just enough sweetness added to make it taste good and keep you drinking it. The boiling makes sure that all of the ingredients get equally dispersed.
