8 Ways To Increase Your Flow, Energy & Ultimately Your Joy After 40!
We all could use more energy. During the course of our day we may feel drained, stressed, and just plain tired. What can we do to increase our energy in a healthy way? Now that I am over 40 I have learned some specific holistic methods to help sustain my energy. Try these tips to help increase and sustain your energy.
Start Each Day In Prayer and Meditation- It is so important how we start our day. Taking the time to be silent, reading scripture or devotionals, and journaling at the very beginning of your day has a powerful impact on how your day progresses. Give yourself at least 15 to 20 minutes to start your day in this positive way and you will be amazed at the results!
Take Time To Be Kind to You -as women we go through many phases of life, (puberty, menstruation, childbirth and menopause) that require enormous amounts of energy. Although our bodies may have been designed for these stages they can still take a toll on our energy reserve. Remember that when you feel tired, it is your body letting you know that you need rest. Be kind to you and listen to your body and then take heed to what it tells you. If the body is screaming for rest then you must REST. It's okay to get off the roller coaster of life for a bit to refuel and re-energize. Click here to find out more about self-care and self -love.
One Green Smoothie A Day - preferably in the morning can go a long way to giving you sustained energy throughout the day. Green Smoothies are an excellent source of iron, vitamin B,and a great way to get many nutrients in a liquid form. For some great Green Smoothie recipes click here
Close Your Eyes - for just five minutes during a busy energy draining day, and visualize something that relaxes you. Give yourself a moment of peace. Taking time out of a busy day for a five minute break can do wonders in restoring much needed energy. After you open your eyes drink at least an 8 ounce glass of lemon water and watch your energy be restored.
Make Vitamin B12 Your Friend - as women our body needs plenty of Vitamin B to make sure we fortify our bodies against stress. The best way to get Vitamin B is through our foods (beans, legumes, meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cheese). But sometimes our bodies need more than what our food can provide. Find a good Vitamin B Stress formula when under a lot of stress. Vitamin B12 helps to increase our energy, helps to prevent depression, anemia and fatigue.
Add Seaweed To Your Diet - Seaweed in all of its forms has amazing nutritional benefits. Seaweed can help to restore your immune system, balance your hormones and increase your energy. You can add kelp to your oatmeal, and use it as a side dish of vegetables during meals. You can also try these other forms of seaweed: wakame in your beans, kombu in your soups, hijiki salads, toasted dulse, sea palm fronds, and deep-fried nori.
The Roots Have It - Dandelions, ginseng, Siberian ginseng, and yellowdock roots are an excellent source of energy. Take 10-20 drops of these roots in the liquid form with your meals and you will feel an increase of sustained energy.
Make Oils an Essential Part of Your Life - Essential oils are excellent to use when you need a burst of energy. Try using Peppermint, Basil, Bergamont, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus, and Frankincense essential oils. Put on your wrist, your palms and inhale, or use a diffuser to get the smell throughout the room.
